WTA BRISBANE: RISKE V MUCHOVA Over 22.5 Games @ 2.27 MarathonBet

WTA BRISBANE

RISKE V MUCHOVA Over 22.5 Games @ 2.27 MarathonBet

Ranked 18 and 21 respectively, they met twice last season and both matches went three sets and had 30 games and 28 games, Muchova is the more likely winner here having played a bit of competitive tennis in the Czech league in the week before Xmas and she has a better record on hard courts but I expect Riske to keep it close and take it to three sets.

SAKKARI V OSAKA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.13 MarathonBet

Ranked 23 and 3 respectively, three meetings between the pair and two of thWTA BRISose meetings have gone to three sets, total games were 26, 22 and 26 with Osaka leading the head to head 2-1

KENIN V SEVASTOVA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.06 MarathonBet

Ranked 14 and 27 respectively, met once last year and match went to three sets with a total game total of 28 with Kenin coming through. Kenin has the more power and better serve but Sevastova has greater variation and again this should be tight with Kenin coming through in three.

PAVLYUCHENKOVA V KVITOVA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.03 MarathonBet

Ranked 31 and 7 respectively Kvitova leads the head to head 7-4 and out of those games only once has this points spread not been covered and that was on clay. The danger is Kvitova can blow anyone off the court if she is on form and she does like this part of the world so I expect her to play well but I am happy to go with the head to head record.

Pro Tennis Trader: WTA Beijing (2019)

WTA BEIJING

MUCHOVA (1.82) V KEYS (2.18)

Both have been in good form lately, Muchova winning in Seoul dropping just one set on her way to the title and Keys Winning Cincinnati before reaching the last 16 at the US Open before losing to Svitolina and the reaching the QF at Osaka normally I would favour Keys here but the act she retired from her last match to Kerber leaves me favouring Muchova and I am happy to back her.

BACK MUCHOVA @ 1.82 EXIT 1.30

MERTENS (2.04) V MARTIC (1.90)

Mertens leads the head to head 1-0, Mertens 21-12 hard court record this season compared to Martic 13-10, both players have been in decent form and I favour three sets here or at least two tight sets.

BACK MERTENS 2.04 LAY 1.60 USE GREEN ACCUMULATED TO LAY THE FIRST SET WINNER @ 1.30 EXIT 1.80

TOMLJANOVIC (2.24) V RISKE (1.73)

Tomljanovic leads the head to head 2-, Riske has been in brilliant form last week reaching the final at Wuhan but it is always tough trying to follow that up and Tomljanovic hits the ball flat and hard and sometimes Riske can struggle, in the head to head all matches have gone to three sets and if Riske wins the first set then I will be looking to lay at a price around the 1.30 mark at any point during the first set.

LAY RISKE 1.73 RELAY 1.30 EXIT 2.40 1.80

KERBER (1.52) V HERCOG (2.72)

Kerber leads the head to head 5-2, Kerber coming back into form and Hercog continues with her struggles on hard courts this season

BACK KERBER 1.52 REBACK 2.20 EXIT 1.20 1.70

PETKOVIC (6.2) V OSAKA (1.17)

Petkovic leads the head to head 1-0, Osaka should come through but has played a lot of tennis lately and Osaka is far too short a starting price here so is a very low liability lay here.

LAY OSAKA 1.17 EXIT 1.30

Pro Tennis Trader: WTA WUHAN (2019)

WTA WUHAN

HSIEH (2.50) V KUZNETSOVA (1.62)

Kuznetsova leads the head to head 2-0, Hsieh has great variety and will get Kuznetsova moving around the court and this could expose what is becoming a bit of a weakness. She was impressive in beating Wozniacki in her first match here.

LAY KUZNETSOVA 1.62 RELAY 1.20 EXIT 2.35 - 1.55

RISKE (1.82) V PUIG (2.16)

Puig leads the head to head 2-0, Puig tends to overpower Riske who is very consistent but lacks the power to be able to dictate matches and Puig although not having a great season was impressive in beating Kerber in her first match here.

BACK PUIG 2.16 REBACK 3.50 EXIT 1.45 - 2.80

MUGURUZA (1.96) V SVITOLINA (1.96)

Svitolina leads the head to head 5-4 but on hard courts, it becomes 5-2, Svitolina has been in better form this season on hard courts as shown by her 24-12 record compared to Muguruza 18-10. Svitolina does not really have a weakness in her game and I fancy her to overcome Muguruza who is becoming increasingly inconsistent.

LAY MUGURUZA 1.96 EXIT 2.80

WTA TASHKENT

PARMENTIER (2.26) V KRUNIC (1.72)

Parmentier leads the head to head 1-0, Krunic has been in awful form on hard courts this season with a 2-9 win-loss record and Parmentier can come through here if her serve is working well.

LAY KRUNIC 1.72 - EXIT 2.70

Pro Tennis Trading: WTA Nanchang 2019

WTA NANCHANG

PETERSON (2.06) V LINETTE (1.91)

Peterson leads the head to head 1-0. Peterson is the more powerful player but Linette is nicely in form so it should be a close match here. Peterson has a far better record on hard courts 115-56 compared to Linette 139-105

LAY LINETTE IF SHE HITS 1.60 DURING THE FIRST SET OR AT 1.20 IF SHE WINS THE FIRST SET, EXIT 2.20

WTA ZHENGZHOU

ZHENG (2.56) V RISKE (1.64)

Riske leads the head to head 4-2 but on hard courts, it becomes 2-2 with Zheng both the last two meetings. Zheng record this season is 12 -10 compared to Riske 16-12 and both are similar players in that they don’t possess hugely powerful groundstrokes but Riske likes to stay int he points and force her opponent to make the mistakes whereas Zheng is slightly more attacking and I feel that will be the difference today and favour Zheng to come through.

LAY RISKE 1.64 - RELAY 1.15 - EXIT 2.30 1.40

Pro Tennis Trading: 2019 US Open

US OPEN

Bouchard (5.5) V Sevastova (1.21)

Neither player has been in good form recently with Bouchard having a 6-13 win-loss record this season on hard courts and Sevastova 7-9. Sevastova should come through here but I am happy to lay as I expect Bouchard to keep it tight at the start.

LAY SEVASTOVA 1.21 - EXIT 1.50

Puig (2.68) V Peterson (1.56)

Peterson leads the head to head 1-0, Puig has the attacking game to cause Peterson problems here.

LAY PETERSON 1.25 - EXIT 1.80

Riske (2.08) V Muguruza (1.85)

Muguruza leads the head to head 2-1, Riske 14-11 Muguruza 17-8 win-loss records so far this season. Riske is a consistent player but Muguruza should overpower her in this match up.

BACK MUGURUZA 1.85 - REBACK MUGURUZA 2.60 - EXIT 1.30

Putintseva (1.44) V Brengle (2.82)

Brengle is consistent and played well on the ITF circuit at Landisville in her last tournament winning outright and it sets up perfectly here. Puntintseva is always vulnerable on serve and both players can struggle against power players but neither of these is that.

LAY PUTINTSEVA 1.44 - RELAY 1.20 - EXIT 2.20

Potapova (2.30) V Gauff (1.72)

Gauff had a great run to the third round at Wimbledon, but Potapova in my eyes currently is a class above and the odds are the wrong way round providing Potapova is fit.

BACK POTAPOVA 2.30 - REBACK 2.90 EXIT 1.40

PRO TENNIS TRADING: WTA ROGERS CUP 2019

WTA ROGERS CUP

RISKE (1.36) V LEPCHENKO (3.20)

Head to head is tied at 3-3, on hard courts Lepchenko leads 3-2. Riske played well at Wimbledon to reach the QF but grass is the surface she excels on and she can struggle a little on hard courts as opponents can overpower her as shown by her career record of 176-154. Lay Riske @ 1.36 - Exit 1.80+

HERCOG (1.54) V PETKOVIC (2.68)

Hercog leads the head to head 3-2 but on hard courts Petkovic won the two times they have met on hard courts and dropping just 5 games over those two matches! I have always thought Hercog has the same to transfer over to hard courts but she has struggled to transfer over her dirt form and although she may come through here I suspect she will trade higher taking into account their meeting on hard courts so I am laying at her current price and look to exit 2.20+

Wimbledon Tennis Trades

WIMBLEDON

STRYCOVA (2.30) V MERTENS (1.73)

Mertens leads the head to head 1-0, Strycova has yet to lose a set here and been playing very impressively, Mertens came through a tough three-set match defeating Wang. Both players are happy on the grass and I think we see three sets here if Mertens is successful or two tight sets if Strycova comes through. I would favour Strycova to come through but I want to lay Mertens at a lower price than what she is currently at so will be looking to lay Mertens at 1.50 or below.

BARTY (1.16) V RISKE (6.80)

Riske leads the head to head 1-0, both players are excellent on the grass and both players are in spectacular form Barty winning the French Open then transferring her form onto the grass by winning Birmingham and not dropping a set in her three victories here. Riske won Hertogenbosch and has come through some tough matches here beating fellow grass court lover Donna Vekic and then yesterday a huge win in defeating Bencic despite being 3-0 down in the second set and facing three break points on her serve. Lay Barty for a low-risk trade her current price, the possibility is to either trade out the liability once she hits 1.25+ then play with the free trade money or just green out as I think Barty comes through but not easily.

Saturday's Wimbledon Trades

RISKE (3.10) V BENCIC (1.46)

Bencic leads the head to head 2-1, both are very happy on grass Riske with her record of 75-31 and Bencic 42-18, Bencic won in the second round at Wimbledon last year in three sets and I can see something similar happening today, Bencic has been the more impressive layer here so far not dropping a set in her two wins. Having the outright position on winning the tournament means I am happy to lay her in this match at her current price and look to exit at 1.90+

SUAREZ NAVARRO (1.72) V DAVIS (2.34)

Navarro leads the head to head 2-1, Davis is a very consistent if unspectacular player but I do believe the market has this wrong as looking at who CSN has beaten Stosur and Parmentier both are weak players on grass, Davis beat Kozlova and Kerber so I have to favour her today providing she can back up the upset she caused in defeating Kerber. I will lay CSN at her current price, look to relay if she hits 1.26 and exit around the 2.40+

MERTENS (1.67) V WANG (2.42)

Wang leads the head to head 3-0 and all three matches have gone to three sets, both players have been impressive so far but going on the head to head record I am happy to lay Mertens at her current price, with a relay in place at 1.22 and look to exit at 2.60+

Professional Tennis Trader Tips: WTA 2019 Miami Open

WTA MIAMI OPEN

KANEPI (1.58) V RISKE (2.54)

Head to head is tied at 1-1, Kanepi seems to lack confidence on the court, Riske is consistent if unspectacular player who will keep a lot of balls in play and wait for the errors from Kanepi. Tight match but I can certainly see Kanepi’s price hitting 2.0+ so she is a lay for me at her current price.

BARTY (1.47) V YASTREMSKA (2.92)

Yastremska is the next big player with huge potential and while I agree she will be a top player her price here seems a little crazy against a proven top 10 player in the world in decent form. I want 1.70+ before backing Barty and if she hits that in play then I am more than happy to back her as I feel she wins this in two straight sets.

PETERSON (1.70) V SIEGMUND (2.24)

Siegmund leads the head to head 2-0, Siegmund is more of a clay court player but with her head to head record over Peterson I am happy to lay Peterson at her current price and if she start well then I will look to relay again at 1.25 to bring the average lay price down then work on reducing my liability. I will look to exit trade if Peterson hits the 2.20+ mark. Peterson has been in very poor form of late.

GOLUBIC (1.80) V SASNOVICH (2.14)

Sasnovich leads the head to head 3-1 and I am happy to back her at her current price as I expect this match to go three sets with Sasnovich coming out on top.

WTA Dubai: GOERGES (1.35) V RISKE(3.40)

WTA DUBAI

GOERGES (1.35) V RISKE(3.40)

Goerges leads the head to head 2-0 one match went three sets and her price is too short considering they met last week and Goerges won 7-5 in the third set. Considering that then she has to be a lay at her current price of

1.35 ZHANG (2.28) V KONTAVEIT(1.65)

Kontaveit leads the head to head 2-0 but both matches have gone three sets and I see no reason why this won't be the same. I will be looking to lay Kontaveit if she wins the first set around or hits the 1.120 mark during the first set.

HSIEH (2.82) V SEVASTOVA (1.49)

Back Hsieh at her current price and look to exit if she gets a breakpoint or if her price comes down to 2.20, her variation will cause Sevastova problems and I think three sets are likely here.

MUGURUZA 2.24) V YASTREMSKA (1.74)

Yastremska leads the head to head 2-0 but I am going against the youngster today, happy to lay her at her current price and I feel Muguruza will cause her problems today. I will look to exit around the 2.20 mark

BOUCHARD (1.61) V LAPKO (2.50)

The stats on hard courts are very similar with Bouchard just slightly ahead, I will be looking to back Bouchard around the 2.0 mark if she hits it as I think she comes through here.

WTA DOHA: KALINSKAYA TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.20

WTA DOHA

KALINSKAYA TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.20

Kalinskaya has been in the better recent form with an 8-2 win-loss record compared to Riske’s 4-6 record. Their respective win/loss records on hard courts read 19-6 for Kalinskaya compared to Riske 14-14. I see no reason why American is the favourite here.

KALININA TO BEAT BRADY @ 3.0

Kalinina 15-8 main tour win-loss record on hard courts, Brady compares at 10-13 and the key to this match I think is Kalinina’s aggressive return game as Brady relies on her serve and the Ukrainian will put a lot of pressure on that part of her game.

WTA HIROSHIMA: ZHENG TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.5

WTA HIROSHIMA

ZHENG TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.5

Riske leads the head to head 4-1 but on hard courts she leads 2-1, Zheng’s aggressive return game will be key here as Riske does not have a big serve

LARSSON TO BEAT LINETTE @ 2.10

Head to head is tied at 1-1, stats are very close and I just favour Larsson who although not been in great form does have the greater weight of shot and if she can find some form then she will be too powerful for Linette

WTA MONTREAL: MCHALE TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.63

WTA MONTREAL

MCHALE TO BEAT RISKE @ 2.63

Riske leads the head to head 3-0 but she has had a poor 12 months on hard courts as shown by their respective records. Mchale is ahead on the statistics slightly and has a better record on hard courts as well over the last 12 months and I am quite surprised she is such a bit price as two of those head to heads were back in 2009 and the most recent one was where she retired after losing the first set 6-4 so I think too many people are reading too much into the head to head

                                   HOLD SERVE                             BREAK SERVE

MCHALE                   64.3%                                          38.4% 20-20(185-150)
RISKE                       63.1%                                          36.6% 10-17(151-131)

ZHUK TO BEAT PERA @ 2.30

Almost identical records on service but Zhuk is far more aggressive on return of serve, she beat Stosur in straight sets yesterday as expected and I see no reason why she won’t account for Pera here who is not quite in the same form as she was earlier in the season losing in the first round in three of her last four tournaments

                               HOLD SERVE                                BREAK SERVE

ZHUK                     65.4%                                             39.4% 20-10(34-21)
PERA                     66%                                                34.9% 17-12(32-29)

MARINO TO BEAT WANG @ 3.60

Marino was excellent in winning yesterday, although her return game is limited she served very well and if she continues at this level then Wang may well struggle to make inroads into her service game. Wang received a walkover in the first round here so I am expecting Marino to start fast

                              HOLD SERVE                                 BREAK SERVE

ZHAO TO BEAT BERTENS @ 9.0

Zhao has been in terrible form winning just two of her last ten matches but this could be the ideal match for her, no pressure and abasing a player who despite rising to the top ten in the world still has a horrendous record on hard courts this years record reading 4 wins to 6 losses

                             HOLD SERVE                                  BREAK SERVE

ZHAO                   65.7%                                              35.5% 20-14(76-66)
BERTENS            67.5%                                              35.3% 6-12(74-77)

OSTAPENKO TO BEAT KONTA @ 2.30

Konta leads the head to head 2-1, looking at the stats you would have to favour Konta but on closer look at taking the data from the last 12 months shows Konta holding serve 73% and breaking 32% with Ostapenko holding serve 61% and breaking serve 43%. It just shows up the fact that Konta has not had a particularly good season and she has dropped out of the worlds top 30 despite starting it in the top 10

                           HOLD SERVE                                   BREAK SERVE

OSTAPENKO     57.1%                                                44.4% 22-12(57-44)
KONTA               77.1%                                                37.1% 12-14(173-91)

BOUCHARD TO BEAT MERTENS @ 3.0

Mertens leads the head to head 2-0, Bouchard managed get back on track last month at Gstaad reaching the semi final before pulling out through injury, she has been back to Canada and should be right ready to put on a good performance here. Mertens had a good win over Konta at San Jose then she done us a favour losing to Buzarnescu in three sets and it did surprise me how easily she capitulated in the second and third sets only winning 4 games in total.

                          HOLD SERVE                                       BREAK SERVE

BOUCHARD     64.1%                                                    35% 4-9(118-90)

WTA HERTOGENBOSCH: STOLLAR TO BEAT RISKE @ 11-4

WTA HERTOGENBOSCH

STOLLAR TO BEAT RISKE @ 11-4

Stollar has a good serve, Rise is consistent but does not have any powerful weapons on grass and Stollar’s more powerful groundstrokes could see her cause an upset.

FLIPKENS TO BEAT BERTENS @ 11-10

Flipkens is far happier on grass than Bertens, her net play is some of the best on tour and I fancy her strongly to win as she just has too much for Bertens on grass.

BOULTER TO BEAT STOSUR @ 2-1

Stosur is not a natural on grass despite her big serve and Boulter is high on confidence, playing at home and has nothing to lose, better movement and has a decent return of serve that will negate Stosur’s serve somewhat.

NICULESCU TO BEAT STEPHENS @ 11-10

Stephens leads the head to head 2-1, Niculescu is far stronger on return of serve nd that could prove to be a pivotal point in this match and also the slower courts will mean Stephens has to put the power on her shots as Niculescu has the most awkward of slices to deal with which has no power on it at all.

NICULESCU 60.5% 49.9%

STEPHENS  65.4% 35%

WANG TO BEAT RISKE @ 11-10

Head to head is tied 1-1, Wang is the more powerful player and her groundstrokes and serve should prove too much for Riske here.

WANG  62.3% 41.9%

RISKE 64.6% 36.5%

MAIA TO BEAT OSTAPENKO @ 6-4

Ostapenko leads the head to head 1-0 winning in three sets, It will come down to Maia’s good serve and Ostapenko’s good return game as to who comes out on top, but Ostapenko will struggle to hold serve as the stats show her serve is the weakest part of her game and allows opponents to put her on the back foot straight away and she is far happier dictating play.
