WTA Toronto Open 2022 (11th August)

WTA TORONTO

SABALENKA V GAUFF

Gauff leads the head to head 2-1 and leads 1-0 on outdoor hard courts, two of the three matches have gone to three sets. Gauff is the more consistent of the players but Sabalenka has the ability to steamroller any opponent out there if she is on form. The angle I am taking with this match is ideally I want Gauff to start well and will look to lay her around the 1.35/40 mark as Sabalenka does tend to respond when she goes behind. I have to favour Gauff for the win but can see it being a tight contest.

PEGULA V GIORGI

Pegula leads the head to head 5-2 but if we just take outdoor hard courts then the head to head becomes 2-2. Giorgi hits the ball flat, hard and very aggressive although she can be prone to a lot of unforced errors. Both players have looked in decent form here especially Giorgi who has so far defeated Raducanu and Mertens in straight sets. I favour Giorgi for the win here but similar to the Gauff match I want to be laying Pegula at a shorter price so will look to lay around 1.45/50

WTA INDIAN WELLS (10th October)

WTA INDIAN WELLS

KVITOVA TO BEAT AZARENKA @ 11-10

Kvitova leads the head to head 5-3 winning their most recent meeting at St Petersburg in straight sets in 2019 and the all the other meetings too place over 6 years ago! Almost identical records on hard courts over the last 50 matches with Kvitova 32-18 and Azarenka 33-17 last ten they have identical 7-3 win loss records. I just feel Kvitova if she is on form is virtually unplayable and although these occasions are rarer at odds against and with the match on her racket I am happy to take a chance here at generous odds.

BEGU TO BEAT ROGERS @ 11-8

Similar to the above match both have identical win loss records over their last 50 matches on hard courts 28-22 and recent form is very similar, Begu might be able to expose Rogers movement with her variation and this is where I expect her to get on top during the match.

COLLINS TO BEAT JABEUR @ 6-5

Colling leads the head to head 1-0 winning a tight three set match on clay and I expect the same today, she has the power to hit through Jabeur but Jabeur has the skill to be able to keep it tight and I expect Collins to come through in three sets with her power.

BADOSA TO BEAT GAUFF @ 11-10
KALINSKAYA TO BEAT GOLUBIC @ 11-8

US Open 2021 (1st September)

US OPEN 2021 - WEDNESDAY

KALININA TO BEAT KERBER @ 10-3

Kerber sneaked past the youngster in her first match here and looked very uneasy, Kalinina looked good after a shaky first set and only lost 2 more games in taking the final 2 sets and she has the power to cause Kerber problems here.

RAKHIMOVA TO BEAT ALEXANDROVA @ 5-1

Rakhimova looked in good form in defeating Mladenovic in three sets here and while she will need to be at her best to defeat her more favoured opponent she does certainly posses the talent to cause her some problems and is too large a price.

STEPHENS TO BEAT GAUFF @ 23-10

Stephens done us a good turn by beating Keys in her first match here and she normally does save her best for the Grand Slams, Gauff while extremely talented is still prone to the odd unpredictable match and Stephens great value to use her experience here to cause an upset.

WTA WIMBLEDON (July 4th)

WTA WIMBLEDON

RADUCANU TO BEAT TOMLJANOVIC @ 11-10

The young British player has played outstanding well so far this tournament, providing she can overcome any nerves then she will have far too much power for Tomljanovic who has played well this week but capitalised on Ostapenko’s renowed weak second serve to sneak through her last match in three.

KERBER TO BEAT GAUFF @ 11-10

Former champ Kerber has played herself into some form and although it will be a tough test against the young American her forehand if she can keep it working well can prove to be very dangerous and she is decent value here.

The remaining games all look good from a trading point of view for in play opportunities but I favour the favourites in them all so combining in a multiple

Keys 1-2
Sabalenka 8-15
Swiatek 8-11
Barty 1-3
Pliskova Evens

Keys, Sabalenka and Swiatek should all prove too powerful for their respective opponents although I do think they will likely need three sets or at least two close ones to come through. Pliskova has served exceptionally well and if she carries on like that then she will prove very tough to beat and Barty should have too much for a tired looking Krejcikova

10.52-1 Betfair

WTA Dubai (8th March)

WTA DUBAI

PERA TO BEAT SEVASTOVA @ 6-4

Over the last 12 months Sevastova has struggled on hard courts with a win loss record of 4-8 compared to Pera’s 9-9. Pera is also ahead on both service hold and the percent she breaks her opponent. Sevastova is very clever, intelligent player but on this occasion I feel Pera will have too much power on this surface.

ALEXANDROVA TO BEAT GAUFF @ EVENS

Both players have similar records, Gauff been in good form reaching the semi finals in her last tournament at Adelaide, I am going to side with Alexandranova in what is a bit of a coin toss of a match as I feel she is the more consistent as currently Gauff can be brilliant one day but tends to be a little erratic.

Pro Tennis Trading: 2019 US Open

US OPEN

Bouchard (5.5) V Sevastova (1.21)

Neither player has been in good form recently with Bouchard having a 6-13 win-loss record this season on hard courts and Sevastova 7-9. Sevastova should come through here but I am happy to lay as I expect Bouchard to keep it tight at the start.

LAY SEVASTOVA 1.21 - EXIT 1.50

Puig (2.68) V Peterson (1.56)

Peterson leads the head to head 1-0, Puig has the attacking game to cause Peterson problems here.

LAY PETERSON 1.25 - EXIT 1.80

Riske (2.08) V Muguruza (1.85)

Muguruza leads the head to head 2-1, Riske 14-11 Muguruza 17-8 win-loss records so far this season. Riske is a consistent player but Muguruza should overpower her in this match up.

BACK MUGURUZA 1.85 - REBACK MUGURUZA 2.60 - EXIT 1.30

Putintseva (1.44) V Brengle (2.82)

Brengle is consistent and played well on the ITF circuit at Landisville in her last tournament winning outright and it sets up perfectly here. Puntintseva is always vulnerable on serve and both players can struggle against power players but neither of these is that.

LAY PUTINTSEVA 1.44 - RELAY 1.20 - EXIT 2.20

Potapova (2.30) V Gauff (1.72)

Gauff had a great run to the third round at Wimbledon, but Potapova in my eyes currently is a class above and the odds are the wrong way round providing Potapova is fit.

BACK POTAPOVA 2.30 - REBACK 2.90 EXIT 1.40
