WTA INDIAN WELLS (10th October)

WTA INDIAN WELLS

KVITOVA TO BEAT AZARENKA @ 11-10

Kvitova leads the head to head 5-3 winning their most recent meeting at St Petersburg in straight sets in 2019 and the all the other meetings too place over 6 years ago! Almost identical records on hard courts over the last 50 matches with Kvitova 32-18 and Azarenka 33-17 last ten they have identical 7-3 win loss records. I just feel Kvitova if she is on form is virtually unplayable and although these occasions are rarer at odds against and with the match on her racket I am happy to take a chance here at generous odds.

BEGU TO BEAT ROGERS @ 11-8

Similar to the above match both have identical win loss records over their last 50 matches on hard courts 28-22 and recent form is very similar, Begu might be able to expose Rogers movement with her variation and this is where I expect her to get on top during the match.

COLLINS TO BEAT JABEUR @ 6-5

Colling leads the head to head 1-0 winning a tight three set match on clay and I expect the same today, she has the power to hit through Jabeur but Jabeur has the skill to be able to keep it tight and I expect Collins to come through in three sets with her power.

BADOSA TO BEAT GAUFF @ 11-10
KALINSKAYA TO BEAT GOLUBIC @ 11-8

WTA CINCINNATI (19th August)

WTA CINCINNATI

PLISKOVA TO BEAT PEGULA @ EVENS

Big serving Czech should provide too much power for Pegula if her serve if fit and firing

KVITOVA TO BEAT JABEUR @ 11-10

Kvitova has become even more unpredictable of late but at these odds she is worth taking a chance as while Jabeur is a consistent and good player she won’t be a match for Kvitova is the former Wimbledon champ can find her form

WTA Doha (6th March)

WTA DOHA

KVITOVA TO BEAT MUGURUZA @ 11-8

Kvitova leads the head to head 4-1 having won their last four meeting with three of those on hard courts. Both players have almost identical recent win loss records on hard court with Kvitova 7-3 over har last ten and 35-15 over her last 50 hard court matches compared to Muguruza’s 8-2 and 37-13 win loss record. Their respective records in finals reads Muguruza won 10 lost 8 and Kvitova won 34 lost 15

Both are powerful players and move very well with Muguruza having the better defensive game but Kvitova when she is on form is very difficult to stop with her aggressive attacking game play and I feel this match up favour Kvitova as shown by the head to head and the odds on offer in my opinion are the wrong way around.

WTA BRISBANE: RISKE V MUCHOVA Over 22.5 Games @ 2.27 MarathonBet

WTA BRISBANE

RISKE V MUCHOVA Over 22.5 Games @ 2.27 MarathonBet

Ranked 18 and 21 respectively, they met twice last season and both matches went three sets and had 30 games and 28 games, Muchova is the more likely winner here having played a bit of competitive tennis in the Czech league in the week before Xmas and she has a better record on hard courts but I expect Riske to keep it close and take it to three sets.

SAKKARI V OSAKA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.13 MarathonBet

Ranked 23 and 3 respectively, three meetings between the pair and two of thWTA BRISose meetings have gone to three sets, total games were 26, 22 and 26 with Osaka leading the head to head 2-1

KENIN V SEVASTOVA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.06 MarathonBet

Ranked 14 and 27 respectively, met once last year and match went to three sets with a total game total of 28 with Kenin coming through. Kenin has the more power and better serve but Sevastova has greater variation and again this should be tight with Kenin coming through in three.

PAVLYUCHENKOVA V KVITOVA - Over 21.5 Games @ 2.03 MarathonBet

Ranked 31 and 7 respectively Kvitova leads the head to head 7-4 and out of those games only once has this points spread not been covered and that was on clay. The danger is Kvitova can blow anyone off the court if she is on form and she does like this part of the world so I expect her to play well but I am happy to go with the head to head record.

PRO TENNIS TRADER: WTA WUHAN (2019)

WTA WUHAN

KVITOVA (1.65) V YASTREMSKA (2.48)

Both players have been in decent form with season records of 22-7 for Kvitova and 19-10 for Yastremska. I feel that Kvitova will come through here as she may just be able to overpower the youngster with her hard flat hitting. Yastremska is incredibly aggressive on her return of serve and will put pressure on Kvitova’s serve but I expect her to come through but want a higher price before backing her.

BACK KVITOVA 2.0+ EXIT 1.30

French Open 2019

FRENCH OPEN

Davis (1.90) V Pliskova (2.08)

Davis leads the head to head 2-0, she has a 12-3 win-loss record on clay this season compared to Pliskova 8-6 and also has a far better record over her career, she is more consistent and has a greater variety of shots, Pliskova relies heavily on her serve and on the clay she can struggle somewhat. Look to back Davis at anything above 2.20+

Samsonova (4.50) V Vekic (1.25)

Samsonova 96-58 record on clay compared to Vekic 41-36, Lay Vekic at her current price and look to exit at 1.70+

Cirstea (6.0) V Kvitova (1.19)

Kvitova leads the head to head 5-2, 4 of the matches have gone to three sets including 2 of the 3 on clay, I think Kvitova wins today but am laying her at her current price and look to exit at 1.50+ as I think Cirstea with her power can cause Kvitova problems.

Mertens (1.51) V Zidansek (2.92)

Zidansek has been in excellent form reaching the final at Nurnberg and very much at home on clay, Mertens form has been awful of late losing in the first round at Madrid and Rome, I will look to lay, Mertens, if she hits 1.30

Bolsova Zadoinov (1.95) V Zvonareva (2.0)

Both players at home on clay but Zvonareva as much as I like her is not the player she was and up against a player very comfortable on clay I feel she will struggle especially on her serve, I will look to back Bolsova at anything above 2.30+

AUSTRALIAN OPEN: BARTY V KVITOVA OVER 22.5 GAMES @ 2.10

WTA NEWPORT BEACH

DAY TO BEAT LAO @ 3.0

Day leads the head to head 2-0, winning both matches on hard court, she was highlighted as a player with great potential but her form has fallen off a cliff but the start of a season I am hoping she can return to the player she looked like she was going to become and with her head to head record she looks good value here.

                                         HOLD SERVE                        BREAK SERVE

DAY                                 58%                                         29.4%
LAO                                 68.6%                                     36.2%

AUSTRALIAN OPEN

BARTY V KVITOVA OVER 22.5 GAMES @ 2.10

Kvitova leads the head to head 3-0, the last two matches are the ones to pay particular attention to as they has been close encounters especially the final at Sydney earlier this month in which Barty was 3-0 in the deciding set before Kvitova fought back to claim a narrow win In a tie break both those two last matches contained 3 sets and total games were 27 and 32 and I see no reason to expect anything different here.

PLISKOVA TO BEAT WILLIAMS @ 3.40

Williams leads the head to head 2-1, both have been impressive in reaching this stage but now is the time for Pliskova to finally make the step up in Grand Slams and the way she demolished Muguruza yesterday was impressive if she plays to that standard again then she stands a fantastic chance against Serena here

                                             HOLD SERVE                      BREAK SERVE

PLISKOVA                            74.6%                                   37.1%
WILLIAMS                            76.8%                                   42%

SVITOLINA TO BEAT OSAKA @ 2.25

Svitolina leads the head to head 3-2 all on hard courts, Neither player has overly convinced here so far but they have both battled their way to this stage. Svitolina’s defence and counter punching is something Osaka has struggled with in the past as she can try to hit too many winners as she can struggle to rally with Svitolina and that is what I think may happen again and Svitolina grinds her down in three sets

                                             HOLD SERVE                     BREAK SERVE

SVITOLINA                          73.4%                                   41.9%
OSAKA                                79.5%                                   40%

WTA SYDNEY: BERTENS TO BEAT SEVASTOVA @ 2.10

WTA SYDNEY

BERTENS TO BEAT SEVASTOVA @ 2.10

Head to head is tied 1-1, Coin toss of a match with two very evenly matched players so I am more than happy to slide with Bertens at 2.10

                                          HOLD SERVE                   BREAK SERVE

BERTENS                         69.2%                               43.6%
SEVASTOVA                     68.7%                               40.8%

TOMLJANOVIC TO BEAT GIORGI @ 2.10

Tomljanovic played well last week in Brisbane beating both Siniakova and Konta before losing to eventual finalist Pliskova in three sets, a reproduction of that form should account for Giorgi who is making her seasonal reappearance

                                         HOLD SERVE                    BREAK SERVE

TOMLJANOVIC                61.9%                                45.2%
GIORGI                            68.9%                                39.2%

KONTAVEIT TO BEAT MERTENS @ 2.04

Head to head is tied 1-1, Mertens lost first round in Brisbane and looked very rusty. Kontaveit hits the ball hard and flat and played well reaching eh QF at Brisbane and above evens is a price I am happy to take

                                         HOLD SERVE                    BREAK SERVE

KONTAVEIT                     65.9%                                  37%
MERTENS                       68.5%                                  40.1%

KVITOVA TO BEAT SABALENKA @ 2.25

Head to head is tied 1-1, both these players can play lights out tennis, I expect the rallies to be short and brutal. Sabalenka won Shenzen after a tough final against Riske and Kvitova losing her second match narrowly in Brisbane, I expect Kvitova to be the fresher and at generous odds she is my pick here despite being a huge fan of Sabalenka

                                        HOLD SERVE                     BREAK SERVE

KVITOVA                        68.3%                                   35.2%
SABALENKA                  76.4%                                   35.2%

WTA HOBART

BOGDAN TO BEAT JABEUR @ 3.32

Jabeur leads the head to head 1-0, Bogdan has a decent serve and a fairly solid game and providing she improves on her performance at Shenzen last week where she won just one game in her opening round loss. Jabeur finished the season strongly but did not look particlaury great last week in Shenzen.

                                      HOLD SERVE                         BREAK SERVE

BOGDAN                      68%                                         33.2%
JABEUR                       64.1%                                      40.5%
