WTA Rome Alexandrova to beat Pegula @ 11-8 (13th May)

WTA ROME

Alexandrova to beat Pegula @ 11-8 Tight match and Alexandranova has the better career record on clay and I feel the odds are the way way around.

Zvonareva to beat Pliskova @ 13-10 Zvonareva’s defensive sills can keep the rallies long here and the surface is a leveller as it is Pliskova’s least favourite as tends to negate her serve somewhat.

Muguruza -1.5 Games to beat Svitolina @ Evens Muguruza leads the head to head 7-5 and on clay she leads 2-0 winning both those matches in straight sets and covering this handicap easily.

Krejcikova + 4.5 Games to beat Swiatek @ Evens Krejcikova has played well in her two matches here and her variation can cause Swiatek some problems early in this game.

WTA INDIAN WELLS (125K): Begu V Tsurenko Over 21.5 Games @ 2.0 PINNACLE

WTA INDIAN WELLS (125K)

Begu V Tsurenko Over 21.5 Games @ 2.0 PINNACLE

Tsurenko leads the head to head 3-2 they met a month ago and the match went to three sets as they are so closely matched. Three of their five meetings have gone to three sets and I expect this one to follow the pattern of their most recent match and go three sets but it is too close to call a winner in this one.

Zvonareva V Doi Over 21.5 Games @ 2.10 PINNACLE

Zvonareva has come through to the semi-final stage with every match going to three sets and Doi has been taken to three sets in two of her three matches so far, neither player has the power to be able to hit through the other so I am expecting a bit of a slog here with two tight sets or three and the points spread to be covered.

WTA LYON

Kenin V Van Uytvanck Over 22.5 Games @ 2.210 PINNACLE

Van Uytvanck leads the head to head 2-1, they have met on a. A variety of surfaces and two of the matches have gone to three sets the only time they didn’t was on clay. Kenin is the better player and has been outstanding this season with her Australian Open victory and the way she is still playing well after that victory shows huge mental strength. Van Uytvanck is a very good player on indoor courts as shown by her 118-47 win-loss record and the fact it is indoor evens this match up and I am expecting three sets.

French Open 2019

FRENCH OPEN

Davis (1.90) V Pliskova (2.08)

Davis leads the head to head 2-0, she has a 12-3 win-loss record on clay this season compared to Pliskova 8-6 and also has a far better record over her career, she is more consistent and has a greater variety of shots, Pliskova relies heavily on her serve and on the clay she can struggle somewhat. Look to back Davis at anything above 2.20+

Samsonova (4.50) V Vekic (1.25)

Samsonova 96-58 record on clay compared to Vekic 41-36, Lay Vekic at her current price and look to exit at 1.70+

Cirstea (6.0) V Kvitova (1.19)

Kvitova leads the head to head 5-2, 4 of the matches have gone to three sets including 2 of the 3 on clay, I think Kvitova wins today but am laying her at her current price and look to exit at 1.50+ as I think Cirstea with her power can cause Kvitova problems.

Mertens (1.51) V Zidansek (2.92)

Zidansek has been in excellent form reaching the final at Nurnberg and very much at home on clay, Mertens form has been awful of late losing in the first round at Madrid and Rome, I will look to lay, Mertens, if she hits 1.30

Bolsova Zadoinov (1.95) V Zvonareva (2.0)

Both players at home on clay but Zvonareva as much as I like her is not the player she was and up against a player very comfortable on clay I feel she will struggle especially on her serve, I will look to back Bolsova at anything above 2.30+

Madrid Open 2019 KUZMOVA (2.18) V GOERGES (1.80)

KUZMOVA (2.18) V GOERGES (1.80)

Goerges leads the head to head 4-0, three times last season and once this season Goerges has won in straight sets including once on clay, she seems to have too much for Kuzmova and I am happy to back her to win today.

KEYS (1.35) V CIRSTEA (3.60)

Keys doesn't convince me on clay despite winning Charleston, which was on the green clay which is a faster surface than here, Cirstea is someone who can match Keys power and I am happy to lay Keys at her current price and look to exit at 1.80

MARTIC (2.32) V MUGURUZA (1.70)

Muguruza leads the head to head 1-0, both players have been in excellent form with Martic winning in Istanbul and before that reaching the SF at Charleston, Muguruza won in Monterrey but I feel she will be the fresher here and will be looking to back Muguruza at 2.20+

STEPHENS ( 1.52) V HERCOG (2.76)

Stephens leads the head to head 2-0, Hercog won Lugano and will be looking at getting some good results on her favourite surface, Stephens is a lay for me outside of the Grand Slams as I am never convinced about her despite all her talent. I am happy to lay at her current price and if she hits 1.20+during the first set then I will relay.

ZVONAREVA (2.18) V COLLINS (1.79)

Collins leads the head to head 1-0, Collins is a very good player but still has bouts where she is incredibly inconsistent, this match looks an ideal trading match as it will be difficult to pick a winner but I am happy to lay Collins if she hits 1.40 during the first set as I fancy Bepa to take this to three sets.

HALEP (1.13) V GASPARYAN (8.40)

A cheap lay of Halep here as Gasparyan has been in excellent form and it won’t take much for Halep’s price to move up to 1.25+ with very little risk.

WTA BUDAPEST: STOLLAR (2.62) V BRENGLE (1.58)

WTA BUDAPEST

STOLLAR (2.62) V BRENGLE (1.58)

Brengle is a player who does not possess hugely powerful groundstrokes or a big serve, she is consistent and a great defender, Stollar has the more aggressive groundstrokes and a bigger serve. I will look to lay Brengle around 1.30 if she starts well as I think Stollar will keep this pretty close.

UYTVANCK (1.69) V ZVONAREVA (2.32)

Uytvanck has been in poor form only winning two matches all season, Zvonareva has looked in good form this season reaching the SF at St Petersburg at her last indoor tournament, she has always played well indoors and her aggressive return game her could be key, I am happy to back Zvonareva at her current price here and look to top up if Uytvanck starts well.

WTA DUBAI

HALEP (1.24) V BOUCHARD (5.0)

Halep leads the head to head 3-1, looking at the break and hold stats they are surprisingly close, Halep lost the final in Doha to Mertens in three gruelling sets and that followed on from a tough three sets semi-final against Svitolina. Bouchard played well against Lapko and the value here is to lay Halep at her current price.

WTA ST PETERSBURG: ZVONAREVA TO BEAT VEKIC @ 2.80

WTA ST PETERSBURG

ZVONAREVA TO BEAT VEKIC @ 2.80

Zvonareva won their only meeting 5 years ago but the fact that sways me to side with Bepa is the indoor record of both players, Vekic has a win-loss record of 31-30 compared to Zvonareva’s 61-36 record. Zvonareva has played well this week and her aggressive return game will put pressure on Vekic’s serve which is a huge part of her game.

SABALENKA TO BEAT BERTENS @ 1.91

Sabalenka hits the ball flat and hard and has a great serve, all in she is pretty much unstoppable when on form and she will likely have too much for power for Bertens in this matchup.

WTA HUA HIN: DUAN TO BEAT GOLUBIC @ 3.0

WTA HUA HIN

DUAN TO BEAT GOLUBIC @ 3.0

Duan is an all-out attacking player and very dangerous, Golubic is steady and a good net layer but if Duan is on form then she will make these odds look very silly and she will be able to overpower Golubic.

ZIDANSEK TO BEAT BRADY @ 2.38

Zidansek is more at home on clay courts but she is starting to transfer that form onto hard courts and is a very dangerous opponent for Brady as she looked in excellent form in winning her last match here.

ZHENG TO BEAT BEGU @ 2.35

Zheng leads the head to head 1-0, she is far more at ease on hard courts and Begu has looked on poor form this season so far

WTA ST PETERSBURG

ZVONAREVA TO BEAT GOERGES @ 3.40

Zvonareva’s defensive skills could force Goerges into longer rallies than she is comfortable with and too many unforced errors.

KASATKINA TO BEAT SHARAPOVA @ 4.0

Both player very much at home on indoor hard courts, Kasatkina likes this tournament as she has played it three times and reached the semi-final twice. Sharapova is becoming more inconsistent and her serve sometimes can be a liability so to be getting odds of 4.0 on Kasatkina is crazy

WTA ST PETERSBURG: ZVONAREVA TO BEAT MAKAROVA @ 2.10

WTA ST PETERSBURG

ZVONAREVA TO BEAT MAKAROVA @ 2.10

Makarova looks shot of confidence at the minute, Zvonareva disappointed at the Australian Open but before that she reached the Shenzen Open semi final and she has always been an excellent player on indoor courts.

                                                    HOLD SERVE                          BREAK SERVE

ZVONAREVA                              62.1%                                       39.4%
MAKAROVA                                63.6%                                       33.5%

MLADENOVIC TO BEAT OSTAPENKO @ 2.05

Both these players have looked in poor form but Ostapenko has looked poor for a few months and struggling to kick on after her French Open win and especially struggling in hard courts even though she has the power to play excellently on them. Maldenovic has a good serve and with her doubles success she is accomplished at the net and should have enough to come through here

                                                   HOLD SERVE                            BREAK SERVE

MLADENOVIC                           60.5%                                         28.2%
OSTAPENKO                             53.7%                                        36.3%

WTA HUA HIN

HON TO BEAT LINETTE @ 2.0

Hon has been in good form reaching the last 16 at Sydney and winning both her matches here in straight set. She has a better record on hard courts than Linette over the last 12 months and I see no reason why she is not favourite.

                                                HOLD SERVE                             BREAK SERVE

HON                                        67.2%                                         36.2%
LINETTE                                 65.6%                                         34%

MULTIPLE BET HUA HIN + ST PETERSBURG

Parmentier 1.61
Zhang 1.53
Hsieh 1.67
Begu 1.69
Tomljanoivic 1.44
Gasparyan 1.62
Vekic 1.88 30.49-1

WTA BRISBANE: TOMLJANOVIC TO BEAT SINIAKOVA @ 2.33

WTA BRISBANE

TOMLJANOVIC TO BEAT SINIAKOVA @ 2.33

TOMLJANOVIC V SINIAKOVA TO FEATURE A TIE BREAK IN THE MATCH 3.75

Siniakova leads the head to head winning in three sets last year, two sets featured a tie-break and in these fast conditions I think it is set up for serve to dominate and can see another tie break featuring here. Tomljanovic has the better and more aggressive return game and this will be key here with I suspect the few chances that will arise to break serve in this match also she appears to be mentally stronger than Siniakova who can sometimes let the match situation get to her.

                                                  HOLD SERVE                       BREAK SERVE

TOMLJANOVIC                        61.7%                                    45.5%
SINIAKOVA                               63.8%                                   40.2%

WTA SHENZEN

PARMENTIER TO BEAT CIRSTEA @ 2.17

Head to head is tied 2-2, Parmentier was quite impressive in her first round match here and although Cirtsea is the better player she is very unpredictable and I cannot have her at odds on against a consistent opponent.

                                                  HOLD SERVE                       BREAK SERVE

PARMENTIER                           54.4%                                    25.6%
CIRSTEA                                   59.8%                                    32.6%

OSTAPENKO TO BEAT NICULESCU @ 2.0

Niculescu leads the head to head 1-0, Ostapenko hits the ball flat and hard and although she had a disappointing season last year she could overpower Niculescu here if she is on her game and make her odds look very generous.

                                                HOLD SERVE                         BREAK SERVE

OSTAPENKO                          54%                                         37.5%
NICULESCU                           62%                                         51.9%

JOROVIC TO BEAT ZVONAREVA @ 2.38

Zvonareva leads the head to head 1-0, Bepa is my favourite player and so pleased to see her back on the tour but she is vulnerable here against a player playing with confidence and who will put her serve under extreme pressure with her aggressive return game.

                                              HOLD SERVE                           BREAK SERVE

JOROVIC                              66.7%                                        43.5%
ZVONAREVA                         62.1%                                       41.9%

WTA WUHAN: GAVRILOVA TO BEAT STRYCOVA @ 11-10

WTA WUHAN

GAVRILOVA TO BEAT STRYCOVA @ 11-10

Strycova leads the head to head 2-0, neither has been in great form recently but the statistics for holding serve and breaking serve are nearly identical. Gavrilova has the more ability if she is on form and I am taking her to finish the season strongly

KERBER TO BEAT KEYS @ 11-10

Kerber leads the head to head 7-2, Kerbers return game will be key here

WTA TASHKENT

KOSTYUK TO BEAT RUS @ 11-10

20-6 compared to 18-11 shows Kostyuk is very much at home on hard courts, she has the better return game than Rus and If Rus serve is a little off then she will be vulnerable as that is a huge weapon to her game.

ZVONAREVA TO BEAT ZIDANSEK @ 11-10

Zidansek is better on clay courts, Zvonareva is a better hard court player and although not operating at the level of old she should have too much nous for Zidansek who is excellent on clay but looks vulnerable on hard courts

KALINSKAYA TO BEAT DANILOVIC @ EVENS

Danilovic has had an excellent season but the majority of her victories have been on clay with a 33-9 record but she does not look as happy on hard courts and against a very exciting player in Kalinskaya then I have to favour the Russian who I expect to be far more comfortable on the surface.

GASPARYAN TO BEAT MARIA @ EVENS

Gasprayan holds serve and break her opponent more than her opponent who really is not happy on hard courts as her record of 9 wins 13 losses in the last 12 months compared to her opponents 20-8 record and she has to be avoided here

Wimbledon 2018: First Round

RUS TO BEAT WILLIAMS @ 8-1
Williams maybe a little rusty and Rus has a tremendous serve using her height to great advantage and if Williams if just a little off the boil then this price could look huge and is worth taking a chance on.

SWAN TO BEAT BUGU 7-4
Neither player particularly good on grass but Swan has the greater potential and begun looked totally shot of confidence in losing to Giorgi at Eastbourne in straight sets.

GIORGI TO BEAT SEVASTOVA @ 6-5
39-21 win loss record compared to 18-13 and Giorgi is a fearsome hitter and a match for almost any player in the world when she is on song as she hits the ball so flat and hard and plays well on grass.

PUIG TO BEAT GOERGES @ 11-4
Puig leads the head to head 4-1 including winning on grass and has the better grass court record.

STEFKOVA TO BEAT BERTENS @ 7-2
Bertens is awful on clay as her record of 7-14 shows, so far this year she has won just one match ingress, Stefkova has come through Wimbledon qualifying and is value to cause what many people believe would be an upset here.

KUZNETSOVA TO BEAT STRYCOVA @ 7-4
50-27 compared to 51-31 win loss record on grass, Kuznetsova leads the head to head 2-0 including a win here at Wimbledon albeit in 2008! Strycova has been in the better form but I am taking Kuznetsova to raise her game and she has the all round variation to be able to defeat Strycova.

TUESDAY

BOGDAN TO BET ARRUBARRENA @ 11-10
Arrubarrena leads the h2h record 1-0, neither player has great records on grass but Bogdan has the more powerful game that should be more suited to this surface.

ZVONAREVA TO BEAT KERBER @ 5-1
Zvonareva easily came through qualifying and as a former finalist here feels very much at home and 5-1 is a craxy price is she is able to perform to anything like her previous form which she has done in the qualifiers.

BENCIC TO BEAT GARCIA @ 12-5
32-15 against 24-15 records on grass, Garcia has a wonderful serve but Bencic has the better all round game including at the net and I am surprised to see her such a big price.

COLLINS TO BEAT MERTENS @ 9-4
Collins has an excellent serve and if it firing then she could prove a handful here for Mertens who is not a natural on grass

FETT TO BEAT KASATKINA @ 11-2
Fett has the bigger weapons and more powerful game and I think at these prices she is a great bet to overpower Kasatkina

Additional bets:

CORNET TO BEAT CIBULKOVA @ 2-1

HERCOG TO BEAT UYTVANCK @ 7-4
