WTA FRENCH OPEN (2nd October)

WTA FRENCH OPEN

BOUCHARD V SWIATEK OVER 21.5 GAMES @ 21-20 + BOUCHARD TO WIN @ 9-5

Career records on clay
Bouchard 91-47
Swiatek 67-12

Having backed Swiatek to win her quarter I am having a saver on in form Bouchard defeating her even though I think it is unlikely, Bouchard is in good form and think she will push Swiatek hard and certainly cover the games total.

HALEP V ANISIMOVA OVER 21.5 GAMES @ 7-5

Career records on clay
Halep 195-62
Anismova 31-11

Anismova can cause Halep problems with her all round game as she demonstrated in last years French Open when she dismantled Halep in straight sets

GARCIA V MERTENS OVER 21.5 GAMES 23-20

Garcia leads the head to head 2-0 both on hard courts, career records on clay

Garcia 101-70
Mertens 78-48

Mertens all round game is very solid and should prove too strong for Garcia but Garcia if on form will keep this very close with her strong serve always a weapon

Pro Tennis Trading: 2019 US Open

US OPEN

SWIATEK (2.02) V SEVASTOVA (1.94)

Swiatek has a 17-7 record this year on hard courts, compared to Sevastova 8-9 who has struggled for consistency this season even during her favoured clay-court season. Swiatek has probably the most aggressive return of serve on tour and I can see her overpowering the variation of Sevastova on this court.

LAY SEVASTOVA 1.94 EXIT 1.35

WOZNIACKI (1.70) V COLLINS (2.36)

7-6 Wozniacki and 11-8 Collins are their respective records on hard court this season, both came through tough first-round matches in three sets. They have only met on clay in their head to head with Wozniacki winning last season at the French Open and Collins winning this season after Wozniacki retired after losing the first set, although interestingly two of the three sets went to tie breaks so it suggests the players are closely matched, I believe Collins has a little more power on her shots and I fancy her to come through a tight match up.

BACK COLLINS 2.36 EXIT 1.40

ROGERS CUP (TUESDAY) 2019

ROGERS CUP 2019

SWIATEK (2.14) V TOMLVANOVIC (1.85)

Swiatek has an extremely aggressive return game and if she hits form then Tomljanovic will struggle to hold serve here. BACK SWIATEK @ 2.14 EXIT

1.40 KERBER (1.46) V KASATKINA (3.05)

Kerber leads the head to head 4-3, Kasatkina leads on hard courts 3-2, Kerber will probably win through but Kasatkina will push her and she should trade higher. LAY KERBER @ 1.46 BACK AT 1.90

KEYS (2.0) V VEKIC (1.98)

Keys leads the head to head 2-0 and she has the power to hit through Vekic here. BACK KEYS @ 2.0 EXIT

1.40 NAVARRO (1.85) V WILLIAMS (2.10)

Williams leads the head to head 7-3, hard courts it becomes 5-2 in Williams favour and similar to a few of the matches I have chosen today, Williams can overpower Navarro here if she is on form and I am quite surprised she is odds against despite her form. BACK WILLIAMS @ 2.10 EXIT 1.50

COLLINS (1.74) V SINIAKOVA (2.24)

Siniakova is not on good form at present and does struggle a little on hard courts as her win-loss record of 71-61 through her career shows as well as this season she is 4-8, Collins has the power to hit through Siniakova here. BACK COLLINS @ 2.0+ EXIT 1.30

AZARENKA (1.59) V GIORGI (2.64)

Giorgi leads the head to head 2-0, Azarenka is struggling wit lack of tennis and it is showing. Giorgi played superbly at Washington in reaching the final. BACK GIORGI 2.64 LAY 1.65

WTA MALLORCA 2019

WTA MALLORCA

Lepchenko (3.0) V Sevastova (1.40)
Sevastova leads the head to head 2-1

Zheng (1.93) V Stosur (2.02)

Stosur is awful on the grass and I have to lay her here and she really does struggle on this surface which is surprising considering her serve.

Azarenka (1.68) V Garcia (2.34)

Garcia leads the head to head 2-0, she has an excellent service and Azarenka has played so little tennis she is struggling for consistency and these courts will play to the strengths of Garcia after her excellent win at Nottingham and I can see her winning here in three or two tight sets.

WTA BIRMINGHAM

Ostapenko () V Swiatek ()

Ostapenko has been in dreadful form and only won two of her last 10 matches and that was on her favoured clay surface, Swiatek had a great run at the French Open reaching round 16 before losing to Halep, she has won her 3 matches her to qualify and her aggressive return of serve will cause Ostapenko huge problems on her service game. I am looking at backing Swiatek at anything above 2.0 as I think she wins this in straight sets.

Dart (2.40) V Putintseva (1.67)

Putintseva really struggles on the grass and while she is the better player I suspect Dart although not great on grass will take this to three sets as she has played more on the grass and I am happy to lay Putinsteva around the 1.60 mark.

Vekic (3.0) V Barty (1.47)

Vekic loves grass and I have already backed her for success at Wimbledon this year, Barty too but I am concerned how she will react after her French Open win as sometimes it can cause a bit of a hangover. I will back Vekic here and look to exit if she hits minimum1.80 depending on how the match is going.

WTA BUDAPEST: VONDROUSOVA (1.75) V BLINKOVA (2.24)

WTA BUDAPEST

VONDROUSOVA (1.75) V BLINKOVA (2.24)

Vondrousova leads the head to head 2-0 winning both in straight sets, she has an exceptional record on indoor courts winning 27 matches and only losing 4, Blinkova is also happy on these courts and while I think Blinkova will keep it tight I do expect Vondorusvoa to come through. I will be backing Her at her current price and look to lay Blinkova if she wins the first set or hits the 1.30/40 mark at any time during the first set.

UYTVANCK (1.72) V SWIATEK (2.22)

Both players are happy on these courts but the big difference has been their recent form, Swiatek is 7-3 compared to Van Uytvanck 3-7 and although Swiatek favourite surface is clay she is playing with such confidence at the minute that she has to be my selection here at generous odds and I will be looking to top up if she hits 3.0 during the first set.

Australian Open Day 3

POTAPOVA TO BEAT KEYS @ 4.0

Keys has an impressive record here for consistency, her main weapon is her serve but Potapova has a good return game which should be able to put pressure on and Keys can be weak on her return game and Potapova has a good service so a tie break is not out of the question. Odds of 4.0 are far too big for Potapova who is playing very well.

                                         HOLD SERVE                    BREAK SERVE

POTAPOVA                      68%                                   39.4%
KEYS                               77.3%                                 32%

SWIATEK TO BEAT GIORGI @ 3.2

Swiatek has too bigger odds here considering how high she is on confidence currently against a very unpredictable opponent who can play lights out tennis sometimes but if her radar is off slightly then her unforced error count can be horrendous.

                                        HOLD SERVE                     BREAK SERVE

SWIATEK                        78.6%                                  32.1%
GIORGI                           70%                                     39.1%

BOUCHARD TO BEAT WILLIAMS @ 5.5

Williams leads the head to head 2-1 although they have not met since 2015, Bouchard is slowly coming back into form and Williams although impressive in beating Maria, in reality, it was expected as she was never going to trouble Williams and we did not really learn anything new from that game, more impressive was Bouchard losing just 3 games to Peng in what was expected to be a close contest and she looked in excellent form. Bouchard won’t be intimidated here and I was tempted to look at the handicap but instead feel it will go one of two ways, either Williams destroys her or what is more likely in my opinion it becomes a close match and Bouchard sneaks it.

                                      HOLD SERVE                        BREAK SERVE

BOUCHARD                 64.6%                                     42.7%
WILLIAMS                    75.5%                                     39.1%

VIKHLYANTSEVA TO BEAT BACSINSKY @ 2.75

Vikhlyantseva has come through qualifying, Bacsinszky was very impressive in beating Kasatkina in her first match here but she has struggled for consistency since her return to the tour and I just feel she may struggle on serve here as you can see from the stats here it is something she has struggled with over the last 12 months and Vikhlyantseva playing with confidence will be a handful here.

                                     HOLD SERVE                      BREAK SERVE

VIKHLYANTSEVA        67%                                       32%
BACSINSZKY              57.5%                                    33.8%

ZIDANSEK TO BEAT OSAKA @ 7.5

Bit of a left-field pick here but Zidansek’s record on hard court 46-19 over the last 12 months is impressive even though it was mainly on the ITF tour. Osaka since winning the US Open struggled and I am happy to oppose here at short odds until she can show the true consistency in her game and back up that US Open wins with a run deep into another Grand Slam.

                                   HOLD SERVE                       BREAK SERVE

ZIDANSEK                 61.2%                                    44.4%
OSAKA                       76.9%                                    40.1%
