WTA NEW HAVEN: VANDERWEGHE TO BEAT RYBRIAKOVA @ 2.30

WTA NEW HAVEN

VANDERWEGHE TO BEAT RYBRIAKOVA @ 2.30

Rybriakova leads the head to head 3-0 but the reason I am not taking that into account too much is that two of those meetings have been on grass which is by far and away Rybriakova’s favourite surface and the surface she has had her best results playing on including a semi-final at Wimbledon. Neither of these two looked in any sort of form at Cincinnati both losing in the first round but I feel Vanderweghe is a player who plays better the more matches she plays as she is able to get her service into a rhythm and then she becomes very difficult to break and I expect to see a great improvement from her last match

STRYCOVA TO BEAT NAVARRO @ 2.41

Navarro leads the head to head 7-1! Again though they have never met on hard courts, 7 of those meeting were on clay which is Navarro’s best surface. Their respective records on hard courts is almost identical with players can struggle when they come up against power players who can hit through them but this should be a very close match with value on Strycova

STRYCOVA 64.3% 38.9% 16-15(189-153)

NAVARRO 65.6% 36.7% 17-14(173-139)

KONTAVEIT TO BEAT BERTENS @ 2.20

Another very even matchup, Bertens has been in excellent form reaching the final at Cincinnati where she beat Kontaveit en route in three sets and I expect a similar type of match but favour Kontaveit this time as she will be fresher and it is Never easy playing the following week after competing in a final. Kontaveith hits the ball ferociously hard ad flat and if she hits form then Bertens will struggle here.

BERTENS  68.4% 36.9%
