RODINA TO BEAT VICKERY @ 9-4
Rodina leads the head to head 4-0, Vickery was in good form reaching the SF at Auckland but then disappointed losing in the first qualifying round at the OZ Open, Rodina managed to get through to the 2nd Qualifying round but the main reason is I am siding with Rodina is her h2h record.
WICKMAYER TO BEAT TOMLJANOVIC @ 17-10
Wickmayer leads the head to head 1-0, Neither player has been in good form but Wickmayer has a powerful game if she is on form same as Tomljanoivic but as always there are fitness concerns and it will come down to who can get on the front foot first and expose the others players lack of movement and at the odds Wickmayer is great value.
BOSERUP TO BEAT GIBBS @ 7-4
Boserup leads the head to head 2-1 again I am siding with the head to head record here as both players are similar in that neither has great power and both base their game on consistency, Gibbs looked very low on confidence in the OZ Open and similar to the above match it is a very even match up so to get nearly 2-1 on one player she has to be the call.
SCHIAVONE TO BEAT SCHMIEDLOVA @ 11-10
Schiavone leads the head to head 2-0, I am taking a chance on Schiavone’s greater variation causing the Slovak problems as it has in the past and the fact that Schiavone will try and go out on a high leading up to her retirement. Schmiedlova has struggled on hard courts recently on the main circuit.
