MUGURUZA TO BEAT HALEP @ 24-23
Muguruza leads the head to head 2-1 having won both matches they have played on hard courts, one indoors and one outdoors. Both players have played well this week especially Muguruza in last night demolition of Pliskova. Halep has not lost a set all week but I feel Muguruza's more powerful game can overpower Halep here. Two of the three matches they have contested have gone to three sets and another three setter here with Muguruza coming through is likely.

VIKHLYANTSEVA TO BEAT MERTENS @ 11-8
Vikhlyantseva is a player I rate very highly, Mertens has been playing well of late but I fancy the serve of Vikhlyantseva to prove crucial here as if it is working then it is a great weapon.

PLISKOVA TO BEAT WITTHOEFT @ 10-11
Pliskova has a huge serve and on hard courts this can prove problematic for her opponents, especially opponents that she can bully and Witthoeft is certainly one of those as she is more at home on clay and indoor hard courts as conditions such as wind etc affect her game badly.

STRYCOVA TO BEAT KASATKINA @ 11-10
Kasatkina is more a clay court specialist. Her record on hard courts over the last 12 months reads 12 wins to 13 losses compared to her record on clay which reads 9-4. Strycova record over the same period reads 20 wins to 14 losses and her consistency should prove too strong and Kasatkina likes playing the drop shot but on these courts and with Strycova's movement that will be a play that she should limit.

DAVIS TO BEAT BOUCHARD @ EVENS
Both players have been in terrible form, Bouchard just does not seem to be able to pick herself up again. Davis has not won a match since Eastbourne. Hardcourt records over the last 12 months read Davis 17 wins 10 losses and Bouchard's is a staggering 11 losses and only 7 wins, her confidence appears totally shot to pieces for a player with so much natural talent but I have to favour Davis as she is the more consistent player if not as good if both players playing as well as they can
