BACSINSZKY TO BEAT MLADENOVIC @ EVENS
Head to head is tied at 1-1. Both have been playing excellent tennis so far this week but one word of caution, Mladenovic has so far played 112 games in her 4 matches including three 3 set matches of which one finished 8-6 in the third and the other 9-7 in the third. Compare this to Bacsinszky who has played just 70 games so far and only been taken to three sets once so far in the tournament. In terms of total time on the courts Mladenovic has been out there for more than 3 hours longer than Bacsinszky and the deeper in the tournament she goes the more likely this is to have an effect.
Looking at the service and return statistics shows us that both players hold serve on clay a similar level with Bacsinszky just slightly ahead by 2% but it is on return of serve where the Swiss is a class above, breaking her opponents on average 13% more often than Mladenovic and with all these things combined she looks a great bet to win today.
